Tie dye cake

So 2 days ago I attempted to make a tie dye cake with my kids. They had begged and begged, and truthfully I put it off. It seem like such a tedious cake to make. Finally I broke down and made it!

As you can see in this pic my purple, cwell if you can call it that) came out horrible! I guess my drops were off. I had to mix all the colors using 3 colors, red, blue, and yellow.  Hey it's my first try at this!  I divided six bowls of batter, each was 1/4 cup and 2 taps.

The pouring was easy I went in a sequence. Big key to this was don't touch the batter! Let it spread by its self!  I started with red, then went to orange, yellow, green, blue, and finally purple.  After all of it was poured I jiggled the pan a little to even it out. Looked pretty huh!

I let my kids frost it and add sprinkles. They went with an ocean theme. Bright blue with, fish sprinkles. Summer-ish  right?!  " just keep swimming". Ha had to throw that in!

And here it is! Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

If you want to make your  own, just grab  a white cake mix, food coloring, and frosting at your grocery store. Then just follow the direction s on mixing the batter. Then you can just use my steps to turn it into a tie dye cake. I'm pretty sure the food coloring will have directions on the back for a specific color.
